Auditory Processing Disorder

Many children have difficulty learning to read and spell. An auditory processing disorder (APD) may cause a spelling and reading delay.

Children with APD commonly go undiagnosed. A child’s difficulty with behavior and academics is often misunderstood. Sometimes the child with APD may be thought to have Attention Deficit Disorders, or other related disorders. Before giving your child medications for attention problems, be sure to have him or her evaluated for Auditory Processing Disorder!
